I painted this scene after hiking up the waterfall trail beside Kitsuksis Creek, Port Alberni. It’s not often that we get snow here in the Alberni Valley, so after an overnight storm I headed out to document the snow covered ferns. This studio painting captures the interplaying forms as the snow balances atop the lush green undergrowth of our west coast rainforest.
