I painted this scene after hiking both sides of the Rainforest Trail, inside the Pacific Rim National Park. It is such a peaceful place to hike, surrounded by giant cedars and masses of ferns. The sunlight pokes through the tree canopy and makes these wonderful patterns on the boardwalk. I wanted to capture that moment of peace and quiet.
